Terry’s vision for Blackheath Dawn is born from a desire to expand the recognition platforms available to the writer. The writing world is changing at an unprecedented pace and part of our purpose is to partner with innovators, visionaries and skilled service providers to encourage, nurture and support the work of new and existing writers.
Both a writer and poet himself, he has held entrepreneurial positions in major media and marketing companies for more than 45 years. Terry began forming his team in 2013; early achievements have included author interviews with the BBC both national and local, ITV news at Ten and local and national press exposure for our writers.
Editor & Creative Director
Petra joined Blackheath Dawn Ltd in 2015, implementing our innovative campaign and services strategy in order to develop and build on our partnerships, create exciting new engagement programmes for our writers and develop cutting-edge recognition platforms. Petra has 27 years experience working in a creative, technical and educational capacity for major corporates, Fortune 500 companies and universities.
Melissa joined the team shortly after Blackheath Dawn’s launch in 2014 as a content writer. She has a diploma in proofreading and a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, and is also author of the Aeldynn Lore fantasy series. With a keen eye for detail, she’ll pick up on the smallest discrepancies and has a pedantic outlook on the effectiveness of language.
Linda joined the team when Blackheath Dawn was launched. She has a diploma in proofreading and has used these skills extensively to contribute to Blackheath Dawn on an ongoing basis. Her proudest achievement to date is her role as proofreader and line-editor for Melissa A. Joy’s debut fantasy novel. She is thorough and pedantic but likes to offer suggestions to authors to ensure all possibilities are covered.
Blackheath Dawn is currently on the lookout for talented individuals with an eye for gaining experience in the publishing industry to join the team. Please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with details of your skills, qualifications and achievements with a covering letter if you are keen to pursue a career in this sector. Blackheath Dawn is still a fledgling company, so at this time work must be undertaken on either a voluntary or self-employed basis. We aim to support both aspiring and published writers, but we are also keen to give the opportunity of work experience to those dedicated to pursuing a publishing career while the business grows and flourishes.
